Levance Fields out for eight to 12 weeks

Pitt's star point guard Levance Fields is out eight to 12 weeks with a fractured fifth metatarsal in his left foot. Fields will undergo surgery on Monday at UPMC South Side Hospital. Fields slipped after driving to the basket in Pitt's 80-55 loss at Dayton.
Mike Cook out for remainder of season

Pitt guard/forward Mike Cook is out for the remainder of the 2007-2008 season. Cook sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial and lateral meniscial tear in his left knee. Cook, a 6-foot-4 senior, will have surgery within the next seven to 14 days at the UPMC South Side Hospital.
